News from Utrecht
Please note: This information only applies to student who pay the EU/EEA tuition fee rates.
What does this mean exactly?
After the standard amount of years set to finish your programme, you have one extra year to finish that programme paying the normal tuition fee. This goes for a bachelor programme as well as for a master programme. So if you do a bachelor programme followed by a master programme, you will have a total of two extra years to finish both programmes paying the normal tuition fee (all though it is not possible to use the extra year of your bachelor programme, for you master programme).
Some EU/EEA-students are eligible for a student grant from DUO. You can find the terms and conditions here. If you do receive a student grant from DUO and you have a disability, and therefore have the right to an extra year of student grants from DUO, you will have one more additional year to finish your programmes. This would give you a maximum of three extra years in total. Each year after that, you will have to pay an extra 3000 euro on top of the normal tuition fee. You will still have the right to apply for ‘collegegeldkrediet’, a loan from DUO to pay your tuition fee.
The extra year(s) to finish your education against the normal tuition fee, are meant to be used in case you want to take extra courses, you are doing an intensive programme or you want to join a board or committee of a student organisation.
Please note: in 2011-2012 you will not yet be charged the extra fee. This will come into effect from September 2012.
